How to write a personal statement for your application

Most of us who aiming to study abroad must be familiar with Statement of Purpose or SOP 

SOP is literally mean the statement to show what is the purpose or to make it easier SOP is the way to introduce yourself and show why you would like to study in this programme and this university.

From my experience in study and make applications in the UK University, SOP came up as the most concerned issue for most students. Some says SOP is really difficult to write even in Thai let alone in English. Even SOP is a part of application supporting document but it is not the ultimate thing to justify whether you will get an offer. However, the SOP give the good chance to show more about you apart from your Transcript or Certificates. Thus, a good SOP is help improving your qualification.

What should Statement of Purpose include.

1. Your qualifications, such as degree and work experience. It should also state the strength point during your study or work.
2. The reason to pursue the programme in this university.
3. Expectation of the programme and your goal after you finish it
4. conclusion to show how you suitable to get accepted.

Please note that, all course detail, its modules and university excellency should not include as it is the fact that they already know, unless it is the real reason to choose that particular programme.

Things to be concern

1. Do not copy the whole statement from the internet or someone else. It is very easy to prove. Only use it as a guideline to adapt with your own information is acceptable.
2. Please use spellcheck and grammatical check
3. please always put your name/ surname and programme of study as well as the University name in case you apply more than one to avoid any mistake.

For those who still cannot start or do not want to write this SOP, let just think that this is your first assignment for study abroad. Once you get through it, you will realise that this SOP writing is the easiest one.
